Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on stable, level surface.

  1. Remove all packaging materials and tapes from printer.
  2. Install ink cartridges: Open cartridge cover, insert cartridges until they click.
  3. Load paper: Adjust paper guides in input tray, load paper print-side down.
  4. Connect power: Plug AC adapter into printer and wall outlet.
  5. Turn on printer using power button.

WARNING! Do not touch print head or ink cartridge contacts. Keep printer away from heat sources and direct sunlight.

First-Time Setup

Power on printer; follow on-screen prompts.

  1. Align print head: Printer will automatically align when first turned on.
  2. Install software: Insert CD or download drivers from Canon website.
