Unpacking and Installation

Unpack all components and inspect for damage. Place printer on a stable, level surface near a power outlet and within range of your Wi-Fi router.

1. Remove all tape and packaging materials from inside and outside the printer.
2. Install the print head: Open the front cover, remove protective materials, and insert the print head until it clicks.
3. Fill the ink tanks: Open ink tank caps, insert corresponding ink bottles (Black, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow), and squeeze until tanks are full. Close caps securely.
4. Load paper: Adjust paper guides in rear tray, fan paper, and load face down.
5. Connect power cord and plug into AC outlet.

WARNING! Do not touch print head nozzles or electrical contacts. Handle ink bottles carefully to avoid spills.

Initial Setup and Configuration

Power on printer; follow on-screen prompts on LCD panel.

1. Language and region selection: Choose preferred language and country/region.
2. Align print head: Printer will automatically perform alignment after initial ink charging.

Printer Controls and Functions

Ink Tank System and Refilling

2. Refill: Open ink tank cap, insert corresponding ink bottle, squeeze gently until tank is full. Do not overfill.
3. Close cap securely and wipe any spills with dry cloth.
4. Run nozzle check after refilling to ensure print quality.

CAUTION! Use only genuine Canon ink bottles. Do not mix colors. Store ink bottles upright in cool, dark place.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Perform regular maintenance via LCD Maintenance menu.

• Nozzle Check: Prints pattern to check for clogged nozzles.
• Print Head Cleaning: Cleans ink nozzles (uses ink).
• Print Head Alignment: Aligns print head for straight lines.
