Unpacking and Setup

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on stable, level surface near power outlet.

  1. Remove all packaging materials and tapes from printer exterior and interior.
  2. Connect power cord to printer and plug into AC power outlet.
  3. Install paper in rear tray or cassette.
  4. Turn on printer using power button.

WARNING! Printer is heavy; lift with care. Keep packaging for possible transport.

Installing Ink Tanks

Fill and install ink tanks before first use.

  1. Open ink tank cover on front right side of printer.
  2. Remove ink bottles and tanks from packaging.
  3. Fill each tank with corresponding color ink (Black, Cyan, Magenta, Yellow) up to MAX line.
  4. Insert tanks into correct slots (marked by color).
  5. Close ink tank cover. Printer will initialize ink system (may take several minutes).

CAUTION! Avoid skin contact with ink. Wipe spills immediately with damp cloth.

  3. Settings: Adjust resolution, color mode, file format for scans; darkness, size for copies.

Note: Clean scanner glass periodically for clear scans.

Maintenance & Cleaning

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance.

  1. Run nozzle check and print head alignment from maintenance menu if print quality declines.
  2. Clean print head via maintenance menu if nozzles are clogged.
  3. Wipe exterior with dry, soft cloth. Clean scanner glass with lint-free cloth.
  4. Check ink levels via LCD or software; refill before empty.

CAUTION! Unplug printer before cleaning. Do not use abrasive cleaners or alcohol.
