Installation & Setup

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on flat, stable surface near power outlet.

  1. Install ink cartridges: Open front cover, insert black and color cartridges into respective slots.
  2. Load paper: Adjust rear guide, insert up to 100 sheets of plain paper.
  3. Connect power: Plug adapter into printer and wall outlet.
  4. Install software: Insert CD or download drivers from Canon website.
  5. Connect to computer: Use USB cable or set up wireless connection.

WARNING! Do not touch print head or ink contacts. Keep printer level during installation.

Loading Paper & Ink

Proper loading ensures optimal print quality and prevents jams.

  1. Paper: Use plain, inkjet paper (A4 or Letter). Adjust guides to paper width.
  2. Ink: Open front cover; wait for carriage to move to center. Insert cartridges firmly until click.
  3. Alignment: Run print head alignment via software after ink installation.

CAUTION! Use only genuine Canon ink cartridges. Do not refill cartridges.

Wireless Setup

Connect printer to your Wi-Fi network for wireless printing.

  1. Press and hold Wi-Fi button until LED flashes.
  2. Use WPS on router or install software to select network.
  3. Enter password if required; wait for connection confirmation.
  4. Install printer on devices via network discovery.

Tip: Ensure printer is within range of Wi-Fi router. Restart router if connection fails.

Printing Documents

Supports documents, photos, envelopes.

  1. Select file and choose "Print" from application.
  2. Select "Canon MG3100" as printer.

  4. Click "Print"; monitor LED for errors.
  5. For duplex: Enable "Two-sided printing" in print dialog.

WARNING! Do not open covers during printing. Allow prints to dry before handling.

Scanning & Copying

  1. Scanning: Open Canon IJ Scan Utility; select scan type and destination.
  2. Copying: Press physical copy button or use software; select number of copies.
  3. Adjust settings: Darkness, paper size, quality via software or buttons.

Note: Clean glass regularly for clear scans. Use supported paper sizes.

Maintenance

Unplug before cleaning. Use soft, dry cloth; no liquids or aerosols.

  1. Print head cleaning: Run via IJ Printer Utility if prints are faint.
  2. Nozzle check: Print test pattern to verify ink flow.
  3. Exterior: Wipe with damp cloth; avoid water near openings.
