Unpacking and Setup

Remove printer from box and inspect contents. Place on stable, flat surface near power outlet and within Wi-Fi range.

  1. Remove all tape and packaging materials from printer exterior and interior.
  2. Connect power cord to printer and plug into AC outlet (120V, 60Hz).
  3. Turn on printer using power button; control panel lights will illuminate.
  4. Load paper into rear paper tray; adjust paper guides.
  5. Install ink cartridges as described in next section.

WARNING! Do not touch print head or ink cartridge contacts. Keep printer level during setup.

Installing Ink Cartridges

Install cartridges before first use and when replacing empty cartridges.

  1. Ensure printer is on; open front cover. Print head carrier moves to center.
  2. Remove new cartridge from packaging; gently remove protective tape.
  3. Insert black cartridge (PG-240) into left slot, color cartridge (CL-241) into right slot until click.
  4. Close front cover. Printer will begin initial ink charging (approx. 2 minutes).
  5. Print nozzle check pattern from maintenance menu to verify installation.

CAUTION! Use only Canon PG-240 and CL-241 cartridges. Do not refill or reuse cartridges.

Connecting to Network

Connect printer to your wireless network for printing from multiple devices.

  1. Press and hold Wi-Fi button on control panel until orange lamp flashes.
  2. On computer, insert setup CD or download software from Canon website.
  3. Follow on-screen instructions to select network and enter password.
  4. For mobile devices, install Canon PRINT app and follow app instructions.
  5. Connection confirmed when Wi-Fi lamp stops flashing and remains lit.

Tip: Place printer within range of wireless router for stable connection.

Printing from Devices

Print documents and photos from various connected devices.

  1. From Computer: Install printer driver; select "Canon MG3222 series" in print dialog.
  2. From Smartphone/Tablet: Use Canon PRINT app (iOS/Android) to print photos, documents, web pages.
  3. AirPrint (iOS): Select print from app, choose printer, adjust settings, tap print.
  4. Google Cloud Print: Register printer via Canon website for remote printing.
  5. Adjust print settings (paper type, quality, duplex) in print dialog or app.

Note: For best photo results, use Canon Photo Paper Pro or Plus.

Scanning and Copying

  2. Open Canon scanning software (MP Navigator EX) on computer.
  3. Select scan settings (color mode, resolution, file format).
  4. Click Scan; save file to desired location.

Copying:

  1. Place original on scanner glass.
  2. Press Color or Black button on control panel for respective copy.
  3. Use + or - buttons to adjust copy quantity (1-99).
  4. Press Start button; copies will print.
