Installation & Setup

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on stable, level surface near power outlet and computer.

Remove all tape and packaging materials from inside and outside the printer.
Install ink cartridges: Open front cover, wait for print head to move to center, insert cartridges firmly into their respective slots.
Load paper: Adjust paper guides on rear tray for A4 or Letter size paper.
Connect power cord to printer and wall outlet.
Connect USB cable to printer and computer (software installation required).

WARNING! Do not touch print head or ink cartridge contacts. Ensure printer is powered off during initial setup steps.

First-Time Use

Power on printer; install software from included CD or download from Canon website.

Close front cover. Printer may perform automatic cleaning.

Deep cleaning: Use only if standard cleaning fails (consumes more ink).

Troubleshooting
