Unpacking and Setup

Remove printer from box and inspect contents.

  1. Place printer on stable, flat surface near power outlet.
  2. Remove all tape and protective materials from printer.
  3. Connect power cord to printer and wall outlet.
  4. Turn on printer using power button.
  5. Follow on-screen prompts to select language and region.

WARNING! Do not place printer in direct sunlight or near heat sources. Ensure proper ventilation around printer.

Installing Ink Cartridges

Install genuine Canon ink cartridges for optimal performance.

  1. Open front cover; print head carrier moves to center.
  2. Remove ink cartridge from packaging; gently remove protective tape.
  3. Insert black cartridge into left slot, color cartridges into right slots.
  4. Close front cover; printer will initialize ink system.
  5. Load paper into rear tray when prompted.

CAUTION! Do not touch ink nozzles or copper contacts. Install cartridges immediately after opening.

  1. On touchscreen, tap Settings > Wireless LAN setup.

  2. Copying: Place original > Use touchscreen to select copy settings (number, quality, size) > Press Color or Black Start button.
  3. ID Card Copy: Place ID on glass > Select ID Card Copy from menu > Follow prompts to scan both sides.

WARNING! Do not force documents into ADF; ensure no staples or clips.

Fax Operation

Send and receive faxes using built-in fax functionality.

  1. Connect telephone line to LINE port on back of printer.
  2. Set fax settings: Date/Time, Station ID, Ring Delay.
  3. Place document in ADF or on glass.
  4. Dial recipient number using keypad or speed dial.
  5. Press Color or Black Start button to send.
  6. Receive faxes automatically when printer detects ring.

Tip: Program frequently used numbers into speed dial memory (up to 20 locations).

Maintenance and Care

Regular maintenance ensures optimal printer performance.

CAUTION! Always turn off and unplug printer before cleaning exterior.
