Installation & Setup

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on a stable, level surface near a power outlet.

  1. Install ink cartridges: Open front cover, insert cartridges into correct slots, close cover.
  2. Load paper: Adjust paper guide in rear tray, load paper print-side down.
  3. Power on: Connect AC adapter, plug into outlet, press POWER button.
  4. Initial setup: Follow LCD prompts to select language, date/time.
  5. Connect to network: Use control panel to select Wi-Fi network and enter password, or connect via USB cable to computer.
  6. Install software: Insert included CD or download from Canon website, follow on-screen instructions.

  2. Press cartridge latch, remove old cartridge.

Tip: Use genuine Canon cartridges for best results. Store cartridges in original packaging until use.

Printing from Various Devices

From Computer (Windows/macOS): Select document, choose "Canon TR4600 series" printer, adjust settings in print dialog, click Print.

From Mobile (iOS/Android): Install Canon PRINT app, ensure device is on same Wi-Fi network, select photo/document, choose print options.

AirPrint (iOS): Open file, tap Share > Print, select printer.

Wi-Fi Direct: Enable on printer via menu, connect device to printer's direct network, then print.

USB Printing: Connect via USB cable, install driver if prompted.

WARNING! Do not unplug or turn off printer during print job.

Scanning & Copying

Scanning to Computer:

  1. Place document face-down on scanner glass or face-up in ADF (if equipped).
  2. On computer, open Canon scanning software or Windows Fax & Scan.
  3. Select scan settings (color, resolution, file format).
  4. Click Scan; image saves to specified folder.

Copying:

  1. Place document on scanner glass.
  2. Use control panel: Press Color or Black button for respective copy.
  3. Adjust number of copies with arrow keys.
  4. Press OK to start.

CAUTION! Close scanner lid during operation. Do not force documents.

Fax Function (If Applicable)

Sending a Fax:

  1. Connect telephone line to LINE port on printer.
  2. Place document face-down on scanner glass.
  3. Dial recipient number using numeric keys (via software or connected phone).
  4. Press START (or equivalent) to send.

Receiving Fax: Set to Auto Receive in fax settings; printer answers automatically after rings.

Fax Settings: Access via LCD menu to set station ID, ring count, etc.

Maintenance & Cleaning

Unplug printer before cleaning exterior. Use soft, dry cloth; avoid liquids.

Print Head Cleaning: Via printer driver or LCD menu: Maintenance > Clean Print Head.

Nozzle Check: Print test pattern to verify ink flow; clean if streaks appear.

Deep Cleaning: Use only if standard cleaning fails; consumes more ink.

Scanner Glass: Clean with lint-free cloth and glass cleaner if smudged.
