Unpacking and Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on stable, level surface near power outlet.

  1. Remove all tape and packaging materials from printer.
  2. Install ink tanks: Open front cover, remove orange caps from tanks, insert into correct slots (BK, C, M, Y).
  3. Install print head: Remove protective material, insert print head and lock lever.
  4. Load paper: Adjust paper guides in rear tray, load plain paper.
  5. Connect power cord to printer and wall outlet.

WARNING! Do not touch print head or ink tank nozzles. Keep printer horizontal during setup.

First-Time Setup

Power on printer; follow on-screen prompts on touchscreen.

  1. Align print head: Printer will automatically align after ink initialization.

  3. Copy: Place document in ADF or on scanner glass, select settings on touchscreen.

WARNING! Do not touch scanner glass with fingers. Use ADF for multi-page documents.

Maintenance and Ink

Ink Level Check: Displayed on touchscreen or via software. Replace ink when low.

  1. Open front cover; press ink tank latch to release empty tank.
  2. Remove new tank from packaging, remove orange protective cap.
  3. Insert new tank until it clicks into place.
  4. Close front cover; printer will initialize ink system.

Print Head Maintenance: Perform nozzle check and cleaning if print quality declines (via Maintenance menu).

Care & Cleaning

Unplug before cleaning. Exterior: Use soft, dry cloth. Scanner glass: Use lint-free cloth lightly dampened with water.

CAUTION! Do not use alcohol, solvents, or abrasive cleaners. Do not spray liquids directly on printer.
