Unpacking and Setup

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on stable, flat surface near power outlet.

  1. Remove all packaging materials and tapes from printer.
  2. Connect power cord to printer and plug into AC outlet.
  3. Turn on printer using power button.
  4. Install ink cartridges following section 3 instructions.
  5. Load paper into paper cassette.

WARNING! Do not touch print head or ink cartridge contacts. Keep printer level during setup.

Installing Ink Cartridges

Power on printer; follow these steps to install ink cartridges.

  1. Open printer cover; print head carrier moves to center.
  2. Remove new ink cartridge from packaging; gently remove protective tape.
  3. Insert black cartridge (PG-240) into left slot, color cartridge (CL-241) into right slot.
  4. Push cartridges down until they click into place.
  5. Close printer cover; printer will initialize and print alignment sheet.

CAUTION! Do not turn off printer during initialization. Use only genuine Canon ink cartridges.

Front Panel: POWER button, Wi-Fi button, STOP button, Alarm lamp, Power lamp.

Indicator Lights: Power lamp (steady green = ready, blinking green = processing, orange = warning). Alarm lamp (lights when error occurs). Wi-Fi button (blue when connected).

Wireless Connection Setup

Connect printer to your wireless network for wireless printing.

  1. Press and hold Wi-Fi button until alarm lamp flashes once.
  2. Install Canon PRINT app on smartphone/tablet or software on computer.
  3. Follow on-screen instructions to connect printer to Wi-Fi network.
  4. For WPS connection: Press Wi-Fi button, then press WPS button on router within 2 minutes.

Tip: Ensure printer is within range of wireless router. Use 2.4GHz network (5GHz not supported).

Printing Documents and Photos

  1. From computer: Select print option in application, choose Canon MG3620 as printer.
