Installation Guide

Tools Needed:

  • USB cable (if connecting via USB)
  • Power cable
  • Ink cartridges (CMYK or photo inks depending on model)
  • Setup CD or downloaded drivers
  • Network information (for wireless setup)

Step-by-Step Installation

  1. Unpack and Prepare: Remove all packaging materials and tape from the printer. Install the ink cartridges as indicated in the quick start guide.
  2. Power Connection: Connect the power cable to the printer and plug into a properly grounded electrical outlet.
  3. Paper Setup: Load paper into the paper tray, adjusting the guides to fit the paper size.
  4. Driver Installation: Install the printer drivers from the included CD or download the latest drivers from the Canon website.
  5. Connection Setup: Connect the printer to your computer via USB cable or set up wireless connection following the on-screen instructions.
  6. Network Configuration: For wireless models, connect to your Wi-Fi network using the printer's control panel or WPS button.
  7. Test Print: Print a test page to verify proper installation and print quality.
Warning: Do not touch the print head or ink cartridge contacts. Always use genuine Canon ink cartridges for optimal performance.

Troubleshooting

Error Codes

  • E16: Waste ink absorber full - Service required
