Unpacking and Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on stable, level surface near power outlet.

  1. Remove all packaging materials and tapes from printer.
  2. Install ink cartridges: Open front cover, insert PG-540 (black) and CL-541 (color) cartridges.
  3. Load paper: Adjust paper guides in input tray, load up to 100 sheets of plain paper.
  4. Connect power cord to printer and AC outlet.

WARNING! Do not touch print head or ink cartridge contacts. Keep printer horizontal during installation.

First-Time Setup

Power on printer; follow on-screen prompts or use Canon PRINT app.
