Unboxing and Contents

Unpack and inspect all items. Ensure nothing is damaged.

  1. Remove printer from box and all protective tapes (orange tapes on print head and inside).
  2. Confirm contents: Printer, Power cord, Setup ink tanks (black PG-275, color CL-276), Setup CD-ROM, Quick Start Guide.
  3. Place printer on a stable, flat surface near power outlet and within Wi-Fi range.

WARNING! Do not touch print head or ink nozzles. Keep printer horizontal during setup.

Initial Setup and Installation

Power on printer; follow on-screen prompts.

  1. Install ink tanks: Open front cover, remove orange caps from tanks, insert black and color tanks into respective slots until click.
  2. Power connection: Connect power cord to printer and wall outlet. Press POWER button.
  3. Align print head: Printer will automatically align; load plain paper when prompted.
  4. Install software: Insert CD-ROM or download from Canon website. Follow on-screen instructions for driver installation.
  5. Connect to computer: Use USB cable during setup or proceed to wireless setup.
