Unpacking and Setup

Remove all packaging materials. Place on flat, stable surface near power outlet.

Remove tape: Remove all protective tapes from inside and outside printer.
Connect power: Plug power cord into printer and wall outlet.
Power on: Press power button; printer initializes.
Load paper: Adjust paper guides in rear tray; load up to 100 sheets.
Install ink: Follow section 3 instructions.

WARNING! Do not touch print head or ink cartridge contacts. Keep printer horizontal during setup.

Installing Ink Cartridges

Use only Canon PG-275 (black) and CL-276 (color) cartridges.

Open cover: Lift front cover; cartridge holder moves to center.
Remove cartridge from packaging: Gently remove protective tape.
Insert cartridge: Match color labels (black left, color right); push until click.
Close cover: Lower front cover; printer prepares for first use.

CAUTION! Do not turn off printer during ink initialization. Store cartridges in original packaging until use.

Control Panel and Settings

Control Panel: Power button, touchscreen, home, back, stop, color copy, black copy.

Touchscreen Menu: Home screen shows copy, scan, fax, settings. Settings: Device settings (network, paper size, print quality), maintenance (clean print head, align cartridge), preferences (language, date/time).

Paper Settings: Select paper size (Letter, Legal, A4), type (plain, photo), source (rear tray, ADF). Print Quality: Standard, high, draft. Network: View Wi-Fi status, connect to new network, Wi-Fi Direct setup.

Connecting to Network

Connect via Wi-Fi or USB cable.

Wi-Fi Setup: On touchscreen, go to Settings > Device settings > LAN settings > Wireless LAN setup. Follow prompts to select network and enter password.
Wi-Fi Direct: Enable from LAN settings; connect device directly to printer without router.
USB: Connect printer to computer via USB cable for direct printing.

Tip: Ensure router is on during setup. Keep printer within range of Wi-Fi signal.

Printing from Devices

Print from computer, smartphone, or tablet.

Computer: Install drivers from Canon website or CD. Select "Canon TR4640 series" as printer.
Smartphone/Tablet: Download Canon PRINT app. Connect to same Wi-Fi as printer or use Wi-Fi Direct.
AirPrint (iOS): Select print from app; choose Canon TR4640.

Troubleshooting
