Unpacking and Setup

Remove all packaging materials from printer and accessories.

  1. Place printer on a flat, stable surface near a power outlet.
  2. Remove all orange tapes and protective materials from inside and outside the printer.
  3. Open the scanner unit (output tray extends automatically).
  4. Install the ink cartridges (see next section).
  5. Load paper into the rear paper feed.

WARNING! Do not touch the print head or ink cartridge contacts. Keep printer horizontal during setup.

Installing Ink Cartridges

Ensure printer is powered on (Power LED lit).

  1. Open the cartridge cover. The print head carrier moves to the center.
  2. Remove new ink cartridge from its package, remove protective tape.
  3. Insert Black cartridge (PG-275) into left slot, Color cartridge (CL-276) into right slot. Push until it clicks.
  4. Close the cartridge cover. Printer will begin initial ink charging (takes about 2 minutes).

CAUTION! Do not turn off printer during ink charging. Use only genuine Canon ink cartridges.

Connecting to Power and Network

  1. Connect power cord to printer and wall outlet. Press Power button.
  2. For USB connection: Connect USB cable to computer and printer.
  3. For Wi-Fi setup:
    • Press and hold Wi-Fi button on printer until Alarm LED flashes once.
    • On your computer or mobile device, connect to network named "CanonXXXXXX".
    • Open browser, enter "http://canon.setup/" to run setup wizard.

Tip: For WPS connection, press and hold Wi-Fi button until Alarm LED flashes, then press WPS button on router within 2 minutes.

Installing Software and Drivers

Install from CD-ROM or download from Canon website.

  1. Insert Setup CD-ROM or visit support.usa.canon.com.
  2. Run setup file, follow on-screen instructions.
  3. Select connection type (USB or Network).
  4. Complete registration (optional).
  5. Print test page to verify installation.

Note: For Windows and macOS, ensure system meets minimum requirements. Disable antivirus temporarily if installation fails.

Printing from Various Devices

From Computer: Select "Canon TS3500 series" as printer in print dialog.

From Smartphone/Tablet:

  1. Install "Canon PRINT" app from App Store or Google Play.
  2. Ensure device is on same Wi-Fi network as printer.
  3. Open app, select photos, documents, or web pages to print.

AirPrint (iOS): Open document, tap Share > Print > Select Canon TS3522.

Mopria (Android): Enable in settings, select document > Print > Canon TS3522.

Scanning and Copying

Scanning:

  1. Place document face down on scanner glass or face up in ADF (if equipped).
  2. From computer: Open Canon IJ Scan Utility or other scanning software.
  3. From mobile: Use Canon PRINT app to scan to device.

Copying:

  1. Place document on scanner glass.
  2. Press Color Copy or Black Copy button on printer control panel.
  3. Use Stop button to cancel during operation.

Tip: For multiple copies, press copy button repeatedly before starting (up to 20 copies).

Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular maintenance ensures optimal print quality.

  1. Print Head Cleaning: Via printer software > Maintenance > Deep Cleaning.
  2. Nozzle Check: Print pattern to verify all nozzles are firing.
  3. Exterior Cleaning: Unplug printer, wipe with soft, dry cloth.
  4. Scanner Glass: Clean with soft, lint-free cloth and glass cleaner.

CAUTION! Do not use alcohol or abrasive cleaners. Never touch the ink nozzles.

Replacing Ink Cartridges

When ink is low, Alarm LED flashes orange.

  1. Open cartridge cover.
  2. Press empty cartridge down to release, remove it.
  3. Unpack new cartridge, remove protective tape.
  4. Insert new cartridge until it clicks into place.
  5. Close cartridge cover. Printer will initialize new cartridge.

Note: Replace cartridges promptly when empty to prevent print head damage.
