Unpacking and Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on a stable, flat surface near a power outlet.

  1. Remove all tape and protective materials from the printer.
  2. Install the ink tanks: Open the front cover, remove orange caps, insert black then color tanks until they click.
  3. Load paper: Adjust the paper guide on the rear tray, load plain paper print-side down.
  4. Plug the power cord into the printer and a wall outlet.

WARNING! Do not touch the print head or ink tank contacts. Keep printer horizontal during setup.

First-Time Setup

Power on the printer; follow on-screen or manual prompts for initialization.

  1. Align print head: The printer will automatically align after ink tank installation.
  2. Connect to Wi-Fi: Press and hold the Wi-Fi button until the alarm lamp flashes, then use WPS on your router or connect via the Canon PRINT app.
