Installation & Setup

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on a stable, level surface near a power outlet.

  1. Install ink cartridges: Open front cover, remove protective tape from cartridges, insert into correct slots until they click.
  2. Load paper: Adjust rear paper guide, load up to 250 sheets of plain paper.
  3. Connect power: Plug power cord into printer and wall outlet.
  4. Power on: Press power button, follow on-screen prompts to initialize.
  5. Install software: Insert setup CD or download from Canon website, follow installation wizard for driver and utilities.

WARNING! Do not touch print head or ink cartridge nozzles. Keep printer horizontal during setup.

Printing Operations

Supports documents, photos, envelopes, labels.

  1. From computer: Open document, select Print, choose TR8620, adjust settings, click Print.
  2. From mobile: Use Canon PRINT app or AirPrint/Google Cloud Print.
  3. Duplex printing: Enable in print dialog or printer settings.
  4. Photo printing: Load photo paper, select appropriate media type in settings.

WARNING! Do not open covers during printing. Use recommended paper types.

Copy, Scan & Fax

Copy: Place document on glass or in ADF, press Copy on touchscreen, adjust settings, press Color or Black.

Scan: Place document, press Scan on touchscreen, choose destination (computer, USB, cloud), select format (PDF, JPEG).

Fax: Connect phone line to LINE port. Place document, press Fax, dial number using keypad, press Start.

CAUTION! Ensure ADF is clear of staples or clips to avoid damage.

Maintenance & Ink System

Replace ink when low ink alert appears. Align print head via touchscreen > Maintenance > Align Print Head. Clean print head if print quality declines.

  1. Replace cartridge: Open front cover, press cartridge holder release, remove old cartridge, insert new one until click.
  2. Nozzle check: Print test pattern to verify ink flow.
  3. Deep cleaning: Use only if print quality issues persist (consumes ink).

CAUTION! Use only genuine Canon ink cartridges. Do not turn off printer during maintenance.

Network & Mobile Printing

AirPrint: Select TR8620 from iOS device's print menu. Google Cloud Print: Register printer via Google Chrome. Canon PRINT app: Print, scan, check ink levels from smartphone.

Cloud services: Scan directly to Google Drive, Dropbox, etc. via touchscreen.
