Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on stable, level surface.

  1. Remove all packaging tape and protective materials from printer.
  2. Install ink cartridges: Open cartridge cover, insert PG-545 (black) and CL-546 (color) cartridges.
  3. Load paper: Adjust paper guides in rear tray for A4 or Letter paper.
  4. Connect power: Plug AC adapter into printer and wall outlet.
  5. Turn on printer using POWER button.

WARNING! Do not touch print head or ink cartridge contacts. Keep printer away from heat sources.

First-Time Setup

Power on printer; follow setup wizard.

  1. Align print head: Printer will automatically align after ink installation.
  2. Install software: Insert CD or download from Canon website; follow on-screen instructions.
  3. Connect to computer: Use USB cable or set up Wi-Fi connection.
