Unpacking and Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on stable, flat surface near power outlet.

  1. Remove all tape and protective materials from printer exterior and interior.
  2. Install ink cartridges: Open cover, insert cartridges into respective slots until they click.
  3. Load paper: Adjust rear paper guide, insert up to 60 sheets face down.
  4. Connect power cord to printer and wall outlet.

WARNING! Do not touch print head or ink cartridge contacts. Keep printer horizontal during setup.

First-Time Setup

Power on printer; follow initial setup prompts.

  1. Install software: Use setup CD or download from Canon website. Follow on-screen instructions.
  2. Align print head: Printer will automatically align after ink cartridge installation.

Ink Cartridge Management

Ink Level Monitoring: Check via Canon IJ Status Monitor software or printer LEDs. Replacement: When ink low/out alert appears.

  1. Open cover, wait for carriage to move to replacement position.
  2. Press cartridge latch, remove old cartridge.
  3. Remove protective tape from new cartridge, insert until it clicks.
  4. Close cover; printer will align print head automatically.

Note: Use only Canon PG-47 and CL-57 series cartridges. Store unused cartridges in original packaging.

Care & Maintenance

Unplug before cleaning. Exterior: Use dry, soft cloth. Interior: Remove paper dust with soft brush.

Print Head Maintenance: Use nozzle check and head cleaning utilities via software if print quality declines.

CAUTION! Do not use alcohol, solvents, or abrasive cleaners. Keep away from dust, heat, and moisture.
