Installation Guide

Tools Needed:

  • USB cable (included)
  • Power cable
  • Ink cartridges (PG-240/CL-241)
  • Setup CD or downloaded drivers
  • Wireless network information (SSID and password)

Step-by-Step Installation

  1. Unpack and Prepare: Remove all packaging materials and tape from the printer. Place on a flat, stable surface near power outlet.
  2. Install Ink Cartridges: Open the front cover, wait for print head to move to replacement position, install color and black ink cartridges.
  3. Load Paper: Adjust paper guides in rear tray, load plain paper (up to 100 sheets), adjust guides to paper width.
  4. Power Connection: Connect power cord to printer and wall outlet. Press power button to turn on.
  5. Software Installation: Insert setup CD or download drivers from Canon website. Follow on-screen instructions.
  6. Connectivity Setup: For wireless setup, use WPS button or connect via USB first then configure wireless settings.
  7. Test Print: Print alignment page and test page to verify proper installation and print quality.
Warning: Do not touch the print head or ink cartridge contacts. Install ink cartridges immediately after removing from packaging to prevent drying.

Troubleshooting

Error Codes

  • E02 / E03: Paper jam - Clear paper from rear tray or inside printer

  • E22 / E24: Scanner error - Restart printer, check scanner unit
  • B200: Fatal error - Unplug for 60 seconds, then retry
  • P02 / P22: Waste ink absorber full - Service required
