Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on stable, flat surface near power outlet.

  1. Remove all packaging tapes and materials from printer.
  2. Install ink cartridges: Open cover, insert PG-245 and CL-246 cartridges.
  3. Load paper: Adjust paper guide in input tray, load plain paper.
  4. Connect power: Plug AC adapter into printer and wall outlet.
  5. Install software: Insert CD or download from Canon website, follow on-screen instructions.

WARNING! Do not touch print head or ink cartridge contacts. Keep printer level during operation.

First-Time Setup

Power on printer; follow software prompts.

  1. Align print head: Use printer software to perform automatic alignment.
