Installation & Unboxing

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on stable, level surface near power outlet.

  1. Remove all tape and packaging materials from printer exterior and interior.
  2. Install ink cartridges: Open front cover, insert PG-275 (black) and CL-276 (color) cartridges into respective slots, close cover.
  3. Load paper: Adjust paper guide in rear tray, load up to 60 sheets of plain paper.
  4. Connect power: Plug AC adapter into printer and wall outlet.

WARNING! Do not touch print head or ink cartridge contacts. Keep printer horizontal during setup.

First-Time Setup

Power on printer; follow initialization and alignment process.

  1. Initial startup: Printer will initialize and perform print head alignment (takes several minutes).
  2. Install software: Insert setup CD or download from Canon website, run installer, follow on-screen instructions.
  3. Connect to Wi-Fi: Use WPS button on router or select network via installer or control panel Wi-Fi button.

Maintenance & Care

  3. Replace ink cartridges: When ink low alert appears, open front cover, press old cartridge to release, insert new cartridge, close cover.
