Universal Canon Printer Troubleshooting

Most Common Error Codes (Inkjet & Laser)

E02 / E03 / E04 / E05: Paper jam or no paper – open cover, remove jammed paper gently; fan paper stack.
E13 / 1686 / 1688: Ink cartridge not recognized – remove & reinstall; clean gold contacts with lint-free cloth.
5B00 / 5B02 / 1700 / 1702: Ink absorber full – run service tool or replace waste pad (service center recommended).
B200 / B204 / B205: Printhead error (common on Pro-10/Pro-100/MG) – unplug 15 min, reseat head; may need replacement.
Support Code 6000 / 5100: Internal jam or sensor issue – open printer, clear any debris near feed rollers.
1000 / 1200: No ink tank or cover open – install tanks correctly; close all covers.

Wi-Fi & Network Issues (PIXMA TR, TS, G-Series)

Printer not found: Use Canon IJ Network Tool or press Wi-Fi button until flashing; ensure 2.4 GHz band.
Connection failed: Hold Wi-Fi button 5 sec → WPS push on router, or use Canon PRINT app setup.
AirPrint not working: Printer & iPhone must be on same Wi-Fi; restart router & printer.

Ink Tank / MegaTank Specific

Ink not filling: Remove orange cap completely; squeeze bottle until ink stops flowing.
“Low ink” warning too early: Reset ink level counter via service mode (rarely needed).

Safety note: Always power off and unplug before clearing jams or cleaning printhead. Never force paper or parts.
